Hatfield, MA — Cornell University and Vassar College will be led by new coaches this coming season.

After twelve seasons at the helm of Cornell, Mark and Julee Devoy have concluded their Big Red careers. As the men’s coach, Mark Devoy has a 126-89 record. In each of his twelve seasons with Cornell, he led the Big Red to a .500 or better record. After posting a season-ending ranking of 11th in the 2007 – 2008 season, Cornell jumped to the 6th ranking position at the end of the 2008 – 2009 season.  In recognition of this improvement, the Big Red earned the 2009 Barnaby Award.

During the same period, Julee Devoy led the Cornell women to a 110 – 91 record. In 2006, she earned the Women’s College Squash Association Chaffee Award, which is given annually to a coach whose team has demonstrated the qualities of sportsmanship, teamwork, character, and improvement. In 2007, Devoy and Cornell captured the Kurtz Cup (B Division). Devoy helped Cornell become a consistent top-8 ranked team in the nation.

Jane Parker led the men’s and women’s programs at Vassar for sixteen seasons. In October, Parker will become the Director of Squash & Fitness at SquashSmarts in Philadelphia, PA. Under Parker, the Brewers’ women won the 2002 and 2008 Walker Cup (C Division) and four Seven Sister titles. She helped the Vassar women to six double-digit winning seasons. With the Brewers’ men, Parker captured the 2015 H Division title at Team Championships. Parker was the longest serving coach in Vassar history.

Both Cornell and Vassar are conducting searches for new head coaches.
