Northampton, MA — For the week ending 2/7/2016, Mount Holyoke’s Rose Minichiello and Amherst’s Darian Ehsani have been named the women’s and men’s Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week.

Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week should have a significant impact on his or her team’s performance during the prior week and demonstrate sportsmanship. Coaches and Sports Information Directors may nominate players.

Rose Minichiello (Mount Holyoke College): At the annual Seven Sisters Championship, which were held this season at Vassar, Mount Holyoke and Vassar had a close match to decide second place. Senior Rose Minichiello clinched the team match by defeating Vassar’s #7, Emma Glickman, in three games (11-4, 11-2, and 11-3). Mount Holyoke won the team match 5-4. She also defeated Smith’s Caroline Previte at the event.

Darian Ehsani (Amherst College): At the NESCAC Championships, Amherst and Bowdoin met in the match to decide 5th place. Amherst’s Darian Ehsani, a junior, faced Bowdoin’s Satya Butler in the match at the #5 position. After being down 7-10 in the fifth game, Ehsani came back to capture the individual (11-6, 8-11, 14-12, 9-11, and 12-10) and team match.
