George Washington UniversityWashington, DC — Looking back, last season may have been the beginning of a George Washington run. The entire starting nine from Team Championships will return this season, and only two of those players are seniors. Joining the Colonials will be two experienced players expected to compete for spots in the top half of the ladder. According to head coach Wendy Lawrence, “The GW team is young and talented. We had no member graduate last spring so we have a cohesive group of returners and two very talented freshmen.” After earning their highest season-ending ranking to date and their first appearance in the Hoehn Cup, the Colonials are eyeing a top 10 finish for the 2015 – 2016 season. To accomplish this goal, matches with Bates, Dartmouth, Drexel, Navy, and Williams are crucial. If George Washington can avoid injuries and increase their win percentage among the bottom third of the ladder, a ranking in the single digits could be within reach.
