Northwestern University Evanston, IL — Northwestern has been busy expanding its squash program. “We have split our squash club into two separate teams now for boys and girls, and are adding a much higher number of matches at venues around the Midwest in order to play new opponents,” explains co-captain Bryan Fiori. “We will look to continue our club’s recent involvement with the Chicago MetroSquash program, as well as adding to our total number of tournaments, giving some of our newer players more chances at real match experience before Nationals.” The Wildcats are making a bid for the top 40, and they have identified three key matches: Notre Dame, Wash U, and USC, a team against which Northwestern is developing a budding rivalry. “I would say that our club is looking great and building for the future,” says Fiori. “As of now our team only has one senior, and next year we will be returning three nationals players from two years ago when they return from the Korean Military. Northwestern squash has been on an upward trend the last two seasons, and I fully expect that trend to continue going into the next year.”
