Drexel University Philadelphia, PA — Get used to meteoric improvement from Drexel. The CSA’s newest men’s varsity team is rising fast, and with only one of last season’s starters not returning, the team should be even stronger in 2013-2014. Then there are the new Dragons, who will add depth throughout the ladder. Michael Thompson of Canada is expected to play in the top 3, Noel Solomon of Sweden should play in the top 6, and Nat Fry of Pennsylvania will likely play in the top 9. Connecticut’s Mason Corbett and Pennsylvania’s August Crofton will be in the mix as well and will compete for spots in the starting line-up. Given the strength of the roster, Drexel is aiming for the top 16. New assistant coach Kelsey Engman will help them try to get there; Engman, who previously coached at Columbia, succeeds Sean Wilkinson, the new head men’s coach at Princeton. The team is focused on an increasingly competitive schedule. “All matches are important when moving up the rankings,” notes head coach John White. The Dragons also leave room for fun; the team is considering a training trip to the west coast this season.
