Hanover, NH — Changes to Dartmouth’s academic calendar mean new opportunities for Big Green squash. “Our fall term starts earlier than usual, and the students will be done with school by the end of November,” explains head coach Hansi Wiens. “This means that our break will be longer, we will be able to go on a longer training trip, and we will have more time to get ready for the winter of squash.” The team will have face one of its key opponents — Penn — in January, so the extra training will come in handy. The other big match of the season will be F&M, and the Big Green will host the Diplomats during the Fall Classic in early December. F&M finished just behind Dartmouth last season, and B Division champions Penn are keen to move up into the A’s, so both matches will have rankings implications. Four new players — Kyle Martino, Alexander Greer, Scott Chapin, and James Fish — will join the Big Green as they make a bid for the top 6. “We are a tightly knit team, and our players are all great friends off the squash court who spend most of their free time together,” says Wiens.
