Cambridge, MA — Harvard has been improving steadily over the past four seasons. Last year, the Crimson made it to the Potter Cup semifinals and were able to put some pressure on Trinity before eventually falling 3-6. This year, Harvard is returning all nine of its starters from last season, having only graduated Will Ahmed, who played  number 10. The team will be getting five new players. Matt Roberts of Cape Town, South Africa, will be competing for a spot in the bottom 3, and Sam Goldberg, a graduate of the Dwight-Englewood School, will be fighting for a spot in the varsity line-up as well. Two players with prep squash experience — Walker Evans (Groton) and James Matthews (Brunswick) — will also be joining the team, as will James Watkins of Cheltenham, UK. Most of the Crimson order should be a repeat of last year, and if anything, the team will be deeper. The two teams ahead of Harvard in last season’s final rankings were Princeton and Trinity, and both squads have had more changes to their line-ups. Will experience give Harvard the edge for the national and Ivy League titles? The Crimson hope so.
