Clinton, NY — After making it to the C Division finals two years ago, Hamilton made the jump into the B Division last season. Though the Continentals were swept at the Women’s National Team Championships, their team scores showed improvement throughout the tournament. A 2-7 loss to Bates in the first round became a 3-6 round to Mount Holyoke in the consolation semis, which became a 4-5 loss to F&M on the final day of the tournament. Hamilton was in every match, making it clear they belonged in the B Division. The team only lost one player to graduation from the top nine, and with more experience, the Continentals should be able to reverse some of the scores from last year. The team will also be deeper, thanks to the addition of Lindsay Arader (Greenwich Academy) and Ann Pooley (Shady Side Academy). Arader is expected to play in the middle 3, and Pooley will compete for a spot in the bottom 3. Whether they win or lose, expect the Continentals to conduct themselves with class; sportsmanship and respect are as much of a part of the team’s focus as skill improvement and performance.
