Amherst, MA — At the 2012 College Squash Association Individual Championships, George Washington’s Omar Sobhy faced Colby’s Harry Smith in the opening round of the Molloy Cup (B Draw).
Smith, Colby’s senior captain, posted a 19-14 record on the season. He helped guide the Mules through a magical Summers Cup (C Division) at the National Team Championships. The team entered the tournament seed 23rd and knocked off #18 Amherst and #19 Hamilton to make the finals against George Washington. Smith went 2-1 at the National Team Championships.
Sobhy, the 2011 winner of the Molly Cup, also had an impressive National Team Championship. He went 3-0 and helped the Colonials secure a 5-4 victory against Colby in the Summers Cup finals.
At the Individual Championships, Sobhy defeated Smith in a four-game match (6-11, 11-5, 16-14, and 11-1).
