Cambridge, MA — At the 2012 Women’s College Squash Association National Team Championships (Howe Cup), Smith College and Virginia played in the opening round of the Epps Cup (D Division).

UVA, which recently announced that they are building a new squash facility, entered the tournament ranked 31st in the nation. Although the Cavaliers were winless at Howe Cup, their future looks very bright with the construction of the new courts.

Smith College defeated UVA 8-1 and went on to defeat Vassar and William Smith to capture the Epps Cup title.

At the match at the #3 position, Smith’s Jennifer Krain faced Virginia’s Amara Warren. Krain won the match in four games (11-1, 11-7, 11-13, and 13-11).
